How to play

A round is a scramble for the ball. Get under it, jump to grab it, then time a shot from a spot where the defender is not standing right in front of you. The same jump that lets you reach the ball also lets you contest your opponent's shot, so jumping is as much a defensive tool as an offensive one.

Tips

• Do not shoot the moment you catch the ball. Take a step to change your angle first, because a defender who has jumped early cannot easily turn around.
• Watch where the ball is, not only your own character. Most points come from being in the right spot when a missed shot bounces off the rim.
• Jump to defend, but not too early. If you leap before your opponent shoots, you land while they are still free to take the shot.
• If you are playing a friend, agree who sits on the arrow keys and who takes WASD before the match starts, so you are not reaching across each other.
